Grof® Legacy Training Adria

A training in the responsible facilitation of expanded states of consciousness.

Grounded in the Grof lineage of transpersonal Psychology. A structured pathway for individuals called to engage with deeper dimensions of the psyche

This is a multi-year experiential formation leading towards certification in transpersonal psychology and Grof® Breathwork facilitation, with pathways into further training in psychedelic facilitation.

Rooted in the Grof lineage, the programme combines in-person training in Adria region of Europe with online learning, supporting deep personal transformation alongside professional development.

Through embodied practice, reflective inquiry, and engagement with transpersonal frameworks within a carefully held environment, participants gradually develop psychological depth, ethical discernment, and relational presence in work with themselves and others.

Three foundational dimensions

This training is held through three foundational dimensions that together support a structured, experiential, and relational approach to working with consciousness.

Each dimension offers a different entry point — from direct experience, to theoretical understanding, to the development of ethical and relational capacity in practice.

  • Participants engage directly in structured experiential processes, primarily through Grof® Breathwork, where psychologically meaningful material may emerge. These processes are held within a carefully tended environment — one that prioritises safety, non-interference, and attentive respect for each person’s unfolding experience.

  • Modern consciousness research, transpersonal psychology, and Grof's expanded cartography of the psyche offer orientation and context for what is encountered experientially. These frameworks illuminate rather than prescribe — supporting exploration and reflection while remaining open to the complexity and uniqueness of each person’s experience.

  • The facilitation capacity develops through presence, observation, and sustained participation in a shared field of learning. Alongside experienced facilitators, participants cultivate attunement, a felt sense of appropriate boundaries, and the ethical discernment that can only be embodied over time.

Who Is This Training For?

This training is designed for therapists, psychologists, and facilitators — as well as those preparing to enter these fields — who are drawn to serious engagement with holotropic states of consciousness, expanded states with healing, transformative, and heuristic potential and their responsible integration into professional practice.

It provides long-term, cohort-based experiential learning that develops psychological depth, relational capacity, and ethical discernment through direct experience and supervised practice.

Held by facilitators trained in the Grof lineage of transpersonal psychology, the training offers a grounded and structured approach to working with holotropic states of consciousness, expanded states with healing, transformative, and heuristic potential within both clinical and retreat contexts.

What you will develop

Throughout the training, participants develop key capacities that support both personal integration and responsible engagement in this field of work:

  • Understanding of transpersonal psychology and its experiential and clinical implications

  • Capacity to remain present with yourself and others in expanded and intense psychological states

  • A grounded and stable relationship to your inner process

  • Integration practices for both personal and professional application

  • Ethical and relational discernment in facilitation contexts

The Journey

The in-person parts of the training will take place in Slovenia, a land where the Alps descend toward the Adriatic, and where Central Europe and the Mediterranean continue meeting and influencing one another. The journey begins with a six-day Introduction Module — a space to arrive, settle, and orient.

Introduction Module

October 13 - 18, 2026 (Gozd Martuljek, Slovenia)

The training then continues through six additional residential modules, held over the following three years at a rhythm of two modules per year.

2027 Modules: March 30 – April 04 and September 16 - 21

Continuing the Grof Lineage

Across cultures, humans have long explored expanded states of consciousness in search of healing, insight, and transformation.

In modern psychology, the work of Stanislav Grof represents one of the most extensive explorations of these states, contributing to transpersonal psychology, psychedelic therapy, and Grof® Breathwork.

Our training is rooted within this lineage — a living field of practice shaped through decades of research, experiential work, and the exploration of holotropic states of consciousness: states that move toward wholeness.

Our Facilitators

Our facilitators are trained within the Grof lineage of transpersonal psychology and bring extensive experience from clinical settings, breathwork, and other forms of engagement with expanded states of consciousness.

Their approach is grounded in rigorous training and lived practice, integrating psychological insight with relational presence and ethical sensitivity.

Facilitators accompany participants through an ongoing process of experiential learning, creating conditions for continuity, depth and careful attention throughout the training journey

Webinars

Every month we host a live introductory webinar offering a clear overview of the training, its approach, and it’s foundation. It provides an opportunity to understand how the programme unfolds, what is expected of participants, and the principles that guide the work.

Join us to explore this pathway in greater depth, meet the facilitators, and gain a sense of whether this training aligns with your personal and professional direction. It is also a space to ask questions and clarify how the process may support your development within the field of transpersonal psychology and facilitation.

An Invitation

This training is experiential in nature and cannot be fully conveyed through description alone.

It asks for reflection, presence, and a willingness to engage deeply with oneself and others within a structured and supportive learning environment.

We therefore invite prospective participants to begin with a thoughtful inquiry process — exploring the programme in detail, asking questions, attending one of our webinars, and considering how it aligns with their current stage of development and professional intention — before applying to the full training.

We welcome applications from those seeking a grounded, embodied approach to transpersonal psychology, experiential practice, and the development of facilitation skills in work with expanded states of consciousness.

Ethics & Safety

Working with expanded states of consciousness calls for careful attention to safety, boundaries, and ethical responsibility. Experiential processes may involve emotional intensity, trauma-related material, and other deep psychological content - none of which are problems to be resolved, but processes to be met with patience and care.
